In partnership with the City of Grand Rapids and the Urban Core Collective the USGBC-WM is working to reduce carbon emissions in the area with the largest footprint - the built environment. Together, operational and embodied carbon are responsible for more than 40% of our global greenhouse gas emissions. Over the next 3 years we will work with our community to create programs and policies aimed at achieving equitable affordability and positive health outcomes while reducing costs and energy consumption.

Bio of Cheri Holman, LEED AP

Cheri Holman is the Executive Director of the USGBC of West Michigan, Director of the Grand Rapids 2030 District and Creator of the Michigan Battle of the Buildings Biggest Loser-Styled energy competition.

Cheri is an effective business and community leader with a passion to transform our built environment by breaking down systemic barriers and prioritizing environmental justice and positive human health outcomes. Her focus areas include energy and water conservation, indoor environmental quality, advancement of clean/renewable energy and smart mobility solutions that result in the advancement of equitable social & economic opportunities.
